Juan & Oti

Hi, we’re Juan & Oti Bordon. 

We are originally from Spain and have lived in the UK for over 30 years. We are married and have 3 beautiful daughters and 2 gorgeous grandsons.

We were blessed to be invited for an interview for the BBO lite mentor role with Community Action Dacorum. We run our own entrepreneurship and leadership development business and did not want to work full time, so we gave the idea to do a job share and Simon & Helen accepted. This was 3 years ago and now that BBO comes to an end we feel honoured to have worked with such a great team and under Simon and Helen’s leadership.

BBO has given us the opportunity to meet great people and the added benefit to work and support participants and see their lives impacted by the holistic care approach the project was able to offer. We have seen people gained confidence, mental health restored, jobs obtained, businesses started, relationships and self-worth developed.

We have been able to work having our Christian values at the centre of our work, respecting people, and accepting them for who the were but believing in what they could do and become. We have been free to share and talk openly about our faith and believes, which it has been very refreshing and appreciated.

We have learned a lot about the services that are available in our community that we were not aware of before working for Community Action Dacorum. We have been blown away by the amount of projects and charitable support the Community Action Dacorum offer to the community.

We respect Helen and Simon, for the people they are and the way they have supported us throughout this last 3 years. We have felt valued and cared for at all times.
