Wellbeing Support Worker

Line Manager: Assistant Manager Community Wellbeing

Place of work: Hybrid and various club locations

Contract: Full time

Salary: £24,558 FTE

Summary

The post-holder will be part of a Community Wellbeing Team that will deliver, promote, develop and record W3RT’s range of wellbeing activities and services. The role involves direct support to residents, partnership working, activity facilitation and effective administration to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Service Delivery & Support

  • Plan, host and support regular wellbeing clubs.
  • Make outbound wellbeing calls and provide telephone-based support.
  • Accept, triage and record incoming referrals promptly and accurately.
  • Make outward referrals and liaise with partner agencies, community groups and other support services.
  • Support a variety of social, creative and community activities.
  • Plan and deliver out-of-club events, including trips, workshops and seasonal activities.
  • Contribute to the delivery of specific wellbeing services, such as: Personal Shopping, Digital Inclusion, Community Cars and Befriending.

Volunteer Support

  • Assist with the recruitment and induction of volunteers.
  • Support volunteers in completing their tasks safely and effectively.

Engagement, Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Gather service-user feedback and conduct surveys to support continuous improvement.
  • Record all activities, interactions and outcomes using agreed systems and processes.
  • Support the promotion of wellbeing activities through community engagement and partnership work.

Administration

  • Complete administrative tasks related to service delivery, communications and record keeping.
  • Support planning and coordination of flagship events and community celebrations.

Knowledge, skills and behaviours

The post-holder must demonstrate and maintain the following knowledge, skills and attributes.

Knowledge

  • A good working knowledge of our local community.
  • An understanding of the problems and issues faced by older and/or vulnerable people and carersespecially in relation to health, social care and wellbeing.
  • Knowledge of needs around carers, loneliness, mental health, poverty and protected characteristics.
  • An excellent understanding of good service and best practise.
  • An excellent understanding of professional boundaries.
  • An understanding and awareness of risk assessments and safeguarding and processes.
  • An understanding of privacy, data protection, data consent and GDPR.
  • An excellent understanding of referral processes and the range of local services and activities.
  • A good understanding of the barriers that those in need might face in accessing support.
  • A high level of competency in ICT including all systems such as, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
  • A working knowledge of volunteering good practice.
  • A good understanding of the discipline needed to secure good quality data.​Skills

  • Able to support people to be more aware of person-centred care.
  • Able to work with vulnerable people to identify need and make effective referrals.

  • Able to work with individuals to identify key and agree action plans / referrals.
  • Ability to empower and develop volunteers to achieve better results.
  • Able to record all activities accurately, efficiently and consistently and in a timely fashion.
  • Excellent administration and multi-tasking skills.
  • The ability to work to deadlines and manage competing priorities effectively.
