Reach Out Support Coordinator

£24,000 per annum – fixed term until March 2024 (to be extended subject to ongoing project funding)

Based in East Herts and Broxbourne and will include home-based working

Do you love helping people? Do you have experience of working or volunteering with people in Health and Social Care? Are you interested in working in the charity sector? We would love to hear from you if you would like to make a real difference to the lives of older isolated people in Hertfordshire.

Reach Out is a project that aims to reduce loneliness in older people who are medically vulnerable, living with frailty and may have recently been discharged from hospital. Reach Out links them up with a trained volunteer in their neighbourhood who will visit them to offer companionship and practical support to help them to feel less lonely and isolated.

Our aim is to ensure those we support for have an enjoyable life and increase their confidence and independence. This role will enable you to use your excellent communication and listening skills to recruit, support, develop and inspire a team of volunteers to match with an older person in their community.

The role is predominantly home-based, covering East Herts and Broxbourne area.  The role will include county-wide travel including periodic visits to the main office in Hitchin. Full mileage expenses are paid at a rate of £0.45 per mile. Working 35 hours per week – Monday to Friday.
