The Mobile Supermarket Operator plays a vital role in delivering our mobile social supermarket service, ensuring that affordable food reaches communities in need.
This role combines safe vehicle operation, customer engagement, and volunteer support to create a welcoming and accessible shopping experience for customers.
As the driver of the mobile supermarket, you will be responsible for transporting the vehicle to various community locations, ensuring it is well-maintained and compliant with road safety regulations. Alongside this, you will engage with customers, assisting them with their shopping experience, handling transactions, and ensuring that they feel supported.
A key aspect of this role is working alongside volunteers, ensuring they are confident in their roles and providing guidance where needed.
You will also help monitor stock levels, report maintenance or service issues, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the service. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that requires excellent communication skills, a friendly and approachable attitude, and a commitment to delivering a high-quality community service. The ideal candidate will have a D1 driving licence, experience in a customer service or community setting, and a passion for helping people.
