Job Overview

North Herts and Stevenage CVS are seeking a new Marketing and Communications Lead to help us champion the amazing work of the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector here in North Herts and Stevenage.  We are looking for a confident communicator who can create tailored, compelling content and campaigns. You’ll lead on the creation, posting and scheduling of social media posts on LinkedIn, X, Facebook and Instagram. You’ll be actively involved in creating content for our newsletters and website, in particular partner spotlights and volunteer interviews. You’ll have excellent design and written communication skills, with an ability to adapt your tone and voice to engage specific audiences, whist remaining true to North Herts and Stevenage CVS’s messaging and brand. You’ll also have a chance to get involved in an array of exciting events and campaigns.

Main Responsibilities          

  • Work with the Senior Leadership Team and Community Capacity Builder to create, implement and evaluate our communications and marketing strategy that supports and promotes our core strategic objectives.
  • Design, create and deliver a wide range of effective social media templates and resources using Canva Pro.
  • Oversee our website updates ensuring it is up-to-date, informative, and accessible.
  • Develop and schedule social media posts across all platforms (Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram and LinkedIn) and our expansion into new channels, ensuring content is high-quality, engaging and inspiring.
  • Keep up to date with digital innovation and the latest trends, translating these into content that will reach new and existing audiences.
  • You will manage our social media communities, working with other team members across the organisation to ensure that our audiences are provided with the information and support that they need. This will include the day-today monitoring of our channels.
  • Produce creative storytelling content and ensure that our marketing channels showcase the depth of our impact.
  • Produce regular reports on across our communications and marketing activity to demonstrate our impact and make evidenced based decisions for future activity.
  • Design and create graphics in line with branding guidelines to support media campaigns.
  • Work with the Community Capacity Builder to create weekly articles for The Comet newspaper.
  • Ensure a consistent brand message across all our posts and comments which follow our tone of voice/style on all platforms
  • Work with staff to collate case studies, photos, quotes and videos, amplifying the voices of our members, volunteers and service users.
  • Manage the development of marketing materials to support events by putting together print adverts, email, website, and social media marketing to ensure maximum exposure
  • Collate content for our monthly e-newsletter using Mailchimp
