Contract: Part-time
Salary: £50,000 FTE
Hours: 0.5FTE
Holidays: 35 days pro-rated

Purpose of post
Role purpose
Lead financial management and reporting, ensuring accurate, compliant and timely financial information.
Deliver high-quality management accounts and strengthen financial controls across the organisation.
Core responsibilities
Prepare monthly management accounts, variance analysis, cashflow forecasts and budget-holder reporting.
Own journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations, general ledger integrity and control accounts.
Prepare quarterly VAT returns and maintain HMRC- compliant VAT records.
Support annual accounts, audit, statutory returns and relationships with auditors, accountants and advisors.
Provide technical leadership to the Finance Team Manager and identify process improvements.
Success measures
Accurate monthly accounts; clean audit; on-time VAT returns; fully reconciled balance sheet.
Person Specification
Essential
Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA), with evidence of CPD.
Experience producing monthly management accounts, journals, accruals, reconciliations and VAT returns.
Strong understanding of financial reporting, month- end processes, VAT compliance, budgeting and monitoring.
High attention to detail, analytical thinking, Excel and systems capability, and ability to meet deadlines.
Charity sector experience, knowledge of SORP, SAGE, audit and statutory reporting.
Able to explain financial information clearly to non- finance colleagues and work collaboratively.
Solution focused to deliver key outcomes in a rapidly changing financial landscape.
Desirable
Experience reviewing others’ work and liaising with external organisations, accountants or auditors.
