R7109 Driver (part time 10 hours per week – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday Term Time only)

Based at: Home based covering Berkhamsted area
Reporting to: Community Transport Lead Officer
Job Purpose: To drive a Community Action Dacorum minibus legally, safely and responsibly in order to deliver the R7109 home to school contract – Berkhamsted to Ashlyns School (6-8 children).
- To work effectively and efficiently as an active team member with the Community Action Dacorum transport team
- To deliver the R7109 route in a timely manner and the scheduled timetable is adhered to.
- To inspect your vehicle as required by current legislation and Community Transport policies and report any defect or damage to the transport team, using the Community Transport defect reporting procedure.
- To follow the organisation and HCC safeguarding protocols and policies
- To transport children accessing the R7109 route in a safe and responsible manner.
- To be responsible for meeting the legal requirements of Road Traffic Regulations, Construction and Use Regulations, Domestic Driving Rules and use of tachographs where relevant and all other aspects of Road Transport legislation.
- To ensure all Community Transport’s requirements for drivers in relation to data recording are met.
- To attend training courses as appropriate for the improvement of the service, including assessment and training to HCC standards.
- To ensure that all customers of Community Transport are given clear directions concerning use of the services, are welcomed with courtesy and respect at all times.
- To demonstrate responsibility and leadership for promoting and championing all aspects of equal opportunities; valuing and managing diversity in all areas of one’s work.
- Responsible for ensuring and achieving the objectives of the Community Transport health and safety policy.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Experience of driving minibuses and/or larger vehicles
- MIDAS or equivalent qualification
- DBS
- Experience of working in the voluntary sector
- Excellent communication skills
- Current driving licence with D1 entitlement
- Well organised, flexible and efficient
