Citizens Advice North Hertfordshire (CANH) is an independent local charity and a member of the national Citizens Advice network. We deliver high-quality advice across North Hertfordshire and parts of South Cambridgeshire, and campaign on issues that matter to local residents.
Our staff and volunteers supported around 6,000 people in 2022/23 with a wide range of issues including benefits, debt, employment, housing, relationship and consumer issues. We provide our advice face to face, and by telephone, email and video calls.
We are a forward-thinking organisation, committed to continually improving, expanding and developing our services to better serve our local community.
We are seeking a Debt and Benefits Specialist Adviser to work as part of the team on our Letchworth Financial Health & South Cambridgeshire projects and also supporting clients across CANH’s range of funded projects as needed. You will work with those in need to help solve their problems, build resilience and prevent future issues. You will provide a specialist advice service with a holistic approach, covering all areas of Welfare Rights advice, debt advice and financial capability.
If you are experienced in giving advice in areas such as benefits, debt, financial capability and are able to listen sensitively to get to the root of the issue and communicate effectively, please email recruitment@nhdcab.org.uk to request a job pack.
A trainee position will be considered for the right candidate, for example, if you have previously worked in an advice-giving environment.
Please also visit www.northhertscab.org.uk and www.citizensadvice.org.uk to find out more about us in North Hertfordshire and the national Citizens Advice service.
We value diversity, promote equity and challenge discrimination. We encourage and welcome applications from suitably skilled candidates from all backgrounds.
