TITLE: Centre Development Worker
RESPONSIBLE TO:
1. The Trustees (Management Committee) of West Watford Community Association (WWCA)
2. Line Manager: Centre Manager
PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To develop new activities, events, groups and services to
complement those already undertaken by WWCA, in partnership with other local organisations at other community venues in West Watford. If you are the right candidate we are happy to train you up.
HOURS OF WORK: 15 hours per week. Hours generally within 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday but some flexibility will be required and may include some evening and weekend working hours with time off in lieu (TOIL).
DUTIES:
- Generate the resources (including funding) to enable new projects and developments as required.
- Develop and monitor new activities and services in line with community needs.
- Build relationships with other local organisations and groups to develop partnership working.
- Be responsible for all administration and management of such new activities.
- Actively promote and encourage volunteering to assist in the delivery of new activities.
- Support volunteers, session workers and activities.
- Promote the use of the Centre to the local community including other groups and associations, individuals and statutory agencies.
- Become familiar with all aspects of the Centre Manager’s work so as to be able to provide cover when necessary.
- Provide a written report to each Management Committee meeting and be prepared to attend such meetings as required.
- Be responsible for administering own workload.
- Participate in personal development and training as agreed with line manager.
- Attend relevant local network meetings as appropriate and agreed with line manager.
- Create promotion materials for and widely promote all activities, new and existing (social media, webpage, paper form)
- Maintain database in timely manner (training provided).
- Carry out other duties, commensurate with the nature of the post and hours of work, which may reasonably be assigned by the line manager
