Salary: £22,332-£27,915 per year pro rata (Depending on experience)

Herts Interpreting and Translation Service (HITS) is a major provider of
interpreting and translation services to local authorities and the NHS in the
Home counties and East of England. Due to HITS wish to recruit highly
motivated and skilled individuals to become members of its booking team at its
offices in Hemel Hempstead.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will be required to process interpreting requests
received from customers via telephone, email, and portal – to allocate
interpreters and translators as requested by customers – and to undertake all
the administrative tasks required to arrange the booking of an appropriate
interpreter or translator.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

The successful candidate will be able to evidence the following:

  • Excellent IT Skills (including experience of working with databases and email systems)
  • Excellent customer service skills and telephone manner
  • Excellent communication skills (spoken and written) Excellent numeracy skills
  • Good knowledge of public services
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records Good organisational skills
  • Understanding of the principles of confidentiality and Information Security
  • Commitment to valuing diversity

The successful candidate must also be able to demonstrate the ability to work on their own initiative, to prioritise and manage several tasks simultaneously and to maintain their composure in the face of emergency requests within a highly- pressurised office environment.

The successful candidate will be flexible and adaptable in their approach to their work and a proven team-worker.

Flexible Hours:  We are looking to create a working schedule to suit you.  We aim to cover a minimum of Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays (9:00 am – 5:30pm) and will create a contract around you and our open hours between Mondays and Saturdays.
